What's up everybody? Modern Warfare is here, and today we are going to be doing our settings video. So, today's video is going to cover performance, it's going to cover your controller settings, it's going to cover, you know, how to get the best FPS, but maybe make the game look a little bit better. Um we're going to do some comparisons in terms of a couple settings, so that way you guys can see what the difference is.

Um but yeah, we're going to let's let's jump right in. Uh make sure you guys have already downloaded the game and have booted the game at least once. If you haven't booted up the game and you're downloading it for the first time, make sure you launch the game once. Then after you've launched the game and it's downloaded its shaders, just come back uh close the game, and then you are going to grab this little file. So, if you guys want this little file, it's a config file. All it does is it lowers like the graphics to like the lowest, and it gives you the best FPS.

Um it's going to make the graphics uh look a little bit worse, but it's going to boost your frames as much as possible. Um so first, you're going to download this, it'll be in the description. Once you grab this file, you're going to go to your Windows search, you're going to type in run, you're going to look for run, and then you're going to look for local app data or app data here in the search bar.

This is going to pull this window up here in your explorer, go to local, go to Activision, go to Call of Duty, and then go to players, and you'll notice this file is right here. What you are going to do is you are going to grab this file, and you are going to drag and drop it in here, and then you're going to hit replace the file in this destination, and that will put the config in there. And then you will close this.

Once you've done that, then you are going to open up your Nvidia control panel, and you are going to copy the settings that I have here. So, these are the settings that will give you the most FPS, and make sure that everything is running great. So, make sure you just copy this. I'm going to scroll slowly, so that way you guys can see this, and then you guys can pause the video and copy it as you'd like.

Once you've done that, make sure you go to adjust image settings with preview, and make sure this is on use the advanced 3D image settings, then you'll go to resolution. Make sure your resolution is on the resolution that you play on and your refresh rate is on the maximum.

You can also go here, put this to 8-bit or 10-bit depending on what kind of monitor you have, and then you will hit apply. Once you've done that, then you will go to adjust desktop color. So, if you guys want to mess with the stuff in here, this will make uh change the brightness, the contrast, the gamma, or make uh the game look a little bit more saturated if you crank up the digital vibrance, or you guys can mess with these things on your monitor. You don't have to do it on here if you have monitor that has a you

know more than capable settings um that you like, then just leave this on default. And you are going to go and to set up multiple displays. And if you guys are playing on a dual PC setup, then you'll want to clone. If you are not, then just don't worry about this.

And go to adjust desktop size and position. If you guys are not playing uh you guys are not playing stretched or anything like that, you can do no scaling, put this on display, hit override, and then put this on your refresh rate and your resolution. Hit apply. Okay, now that we're done with the Nvidia control panel settings, we're going to close this out and we're going to load up the game and we're going to dive deeper into the settings. Okay, so now that we've loaded up the game, we're going to go to our graphics tab. This is where we're going to start. You're going

to make sure you are on full screen exclusive. You can play on full screen borderless, but I lose frames on it. It's probably has to do with uh my capture card and the way cloning works and all that stuff. So, I actually play on full screen exclusive, but you're if you can want to test uh borderless, uh go ahead and test it and make sure that your FPS doesn't dip. Make sure you are doing this in a private match or in an actual match, that way you guys can actually see what this is doing to your frames.

Uh then you are going to go to your refresh rate. Make sure it's on the highest that you use. Display resolution, make sure it's on the correct resolution. Background shader preloading, I have that off. I'd prefer my shaders to load uh as soon as I open the game or when I do an update. I don't want it doing it in the background uh whenever I boot up my PC cuz then my PC just gets really slow and I don't know why.

Um and I'd rather it just do in game. And it makes sure that if you do your SDR calibration, you guys just make this follow the instructions. It's going to make sure that it doesn't look like all wonky. And then hit apply. For Nvidia Reflex Low Latency, you're going to want to play to put this on on. If you guys are playing on a CPU bound machine, then make sure you guys put this on on plus boost. So, if you have a weak weak CPU, then you are going to put this on on plus boost. If you have a really strong

graphics card, you are going to put this on on. If you put this on on plus boost, you might get a tiny bit more or or better latency, but on is going to give you more frames. At least that's how it is for me. Again, you can test this for yourself.

Then you're going to just leave everything else basically on default. Make sure this is on unlimited because the config actually applied a lot of the settings. I don't play with HDR, so I turned that off. But it applied all the settings here, so you guys don't really have to touch anything. However, if you guys want to turn up your sharpness, you guys can turn that up. Also, on the topic of Nvidia DLSS, so we'll actually go and do a comparison of Transformer and CNN

and show you guys the difference between the frames. I personally like to play on Transformer. I don't want to play on CNN because I have a really strong computer, but also it's just very blurry. So, we can actually go and do that comparison now. Now we've loaded in the match, we can actually do a little test here for the different models. Right now we are on Transformer. We're going to go here and we are going to put this on CNN.

You'll notice that I did get a slight boost a slight boost in frames, maybe about like 30 to like 50 frames, but at least to me, the game looks a little bit blurrier in motion and stuff like that. And I'm not really like a big fan of it.

However, if this is more like if this is better for you, if you want the frame increase, and maybe you don't mind taking a little visual loss, or maybe you just don't notice it, then you're more than welcome to put this on CNN and try this out. You can also, if you want this to be a little bit clearer as well, you can put this on a higher mode like balanced for example, and even then I still got a little bit of a frame increase. Um this is all depending on your GPU in terms of how much frames

you're going to get because this game did take a big loss uh to the CPU. So, while we're on here, we're actually going to do uh some more settings that you guys want to try um in case you guys want the game to look a little bit better, but you still want to maintain much much more of your FPS. Remember, all of the settings are already set due to the config, um but you guys can go here and test this as well. So, if you guys want your camos to look really good in game, um you

basically need to put this on low or normal or high. If you play it on very low, usually the camos look a little bit flat. Um they don't look as nice and colored and detailed. Um and if you're a big camo person like me for example, then you're going to want to put this on normal, hit apply.

And then another setting that they just recently added that you guys actually might want to check out um is shadow filtering quality. So, you'll notice that on certain maps or certain big maps, you'll get a lot of pixelated shadows. This is very particular on ground war maps and even on DMZ where there's a lot of trees and like fragmented shadows kind of like these.

And sometimes it just doesn't look very good or it's very hard to see because you just see all these like pixelated shadow maps. So, what you can do is you can actually go here. Sorry. You can actually go to the advanced settings. You can turn on shadow shadow filtering to normal or high and see if that gets better. You'll notice if I put this on high, um at least on the big maps, uh you'll notice that the shadows get a little bit better. I don't have private match for

the big maps, so it's kind of hard to see uh really demonstrate, but this is particularly a lot better on maps like DMZ and on the ground war maps. Um I don't really know if this is going to affect any of the multiplayer maps, but it definitely does on those and it makes the shadows look a lot less pixelated and it makes it easier to see on those big maps because there's just not so many like lines and textures Um that make it hard for for for you to see players. So I actually am putting this

on high cuz I have more than a nice enough GPU where this is not going to affect me at all. Everything else just keep it on off or low. If you guys want to see the recoil patterns of weapons on walls, you're also welcome to turn this on as well. And everything else you just don't need to touch at all in the settings.

And then we are going to go over to our field of view here. You will play on whatever field of view that you'd like. I'm playing on 120 FOV for DMZ and I usually go down to somewhere around 103 for multiplayer. However, I will probably change this sometime in the future cuz I always do. So make sure you guys pop in the stream to see what I did or what I changed it to. Next is going to be the advanced FOV option. Do not turn this on at all costs. You'll notice

I just lost like 50 frames. This is supposed to mitigate the um the the way that FOV scaling makes the objects look in the distance. So if you guys want to play with this because you feel like maybe you like the way the game looks better or it's just easier for you to like see players in the center of your screen if you play on a particularly high FOV, then feel free to turn it on, but you are going to lose a decent amount of frames. See, I just jumped up like a ridiculous amount of frames by turning that off.

So yeah, we're going to keep that off. Um and then here you're going to put the put this on minimal. Put this on minimal. This is already set. It should be at least. Um this is going to make it so there's not as much camera shaking whenever you are um just moving around or shooting your gun. Invert flashbang on or off depending on if you like the white screen or the black screen uh whenever you get flashed.

And now we are going to go over to our interface settings and we are going to mess with this. Do not put on skip kill cam. For telemetry, you're going to put on with whatever things you want to see. Um they added input latency so you can kind of check what your latency is into the game, uh but you don't really need that if you don't want to. Keep your ping. Keep your packet loss. Keep your FPS counter.

And you're going to go over to the readability tab. If you guys want player name tags to look bigger, put this on larger. That is going to make the player name tags in game like a big ass balloon. It's going to be impossible to miss. Um it's going to make it so it's spotting targets a little bit easier. Um but if it's just too jarring for you, you can play on default if your eyesight's good enough.

Uh color customization, a lot of people like to play on filter two and put this on both um because it makes the game look a little bit more vibrant, but you can just tune that with your monitor. I personally like filter two for my interface. I just like the way that it makes the uh HUD look.

So, I just put it on uh filter two and put it on interface. I don't touch anything else. Next, you're going to go over gameplay HUD. Go to your HUD bounds and put these as inwards as possible. The reason that you're doing this is to make it a lot easier for you to see your mini-map and your kill feed and your ammo and all that stuff because the less time that you have um to take to come back to the center of your screen when pulling information from the edges of your

Frequently asked questions

You go to local app data through Windows search, navigate to Activision, Call of Duty, and players, and then drag and drop the config file to replace the existing one.

Transformer is preferred by Parasite CoD, whereas CNN can give a slight frame boost of about 30 to 50 frames but makes the game look a bit blurrier in motion.
