Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms are the agreement between you and Unidata Innovation Technology Ltd, a company based in Hanoi, Vietnam, that runs TubeTranscript ("we"), covering tubetranscript.io, our REST API and our MCP servers (the "service"). By using the service you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
1. The service
TubeTranscript creates transcripts of YouTube videos, and can generate summaries and other content from them. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Plans and limits
- Guest: 10 transcripts per 24 hours, of which at most 5 may use AI (Whisper) transcription. Free account: 24 transcripts per 24 hours. Transcripts are published publicly, as described in section 4.
- Pro: up to 1,000 requests per 24 hours under fair use, videos up to 2 hours, API and MCP access, and private transcripts.
Current limits are listed in the usage limits reference. We may adjust them to keep the service stable, and we will announce any change that reduces what a paid plan includes before it takes effect.
3. Your account and API keys
Keep your password and API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and keys, including requests made by agents and automations you connect. Revoke a key in the dashboard as soon as you suspect it has leaked, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Public and private transcripts
When you request a transcript as a guest or on the free plan, you instruct us to publish it on a public page that search engines may index, and you accept that the transcript, a generated summary and a generated FAQ will be visible to anyone. Transcripts requested on the Pro plan are visible only to your team. We may remove or unpublish any transcript, for example after a request from the video's creator.
5. Content and ownership
Videos and what is said in them belong to their creators. TubeTranscript claims no ownership of them, and a transcript does not give you rights in the underlying video. You are responsible for having the right to use a video's content for your purpose, and for complying with YouTube's terms and with copyright law when you reuse a transcript. Subject to those third-party rights, we claim no ownership of the output the service generates for you. The TubeTranscript name, site and software remain ours.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits or access controls, including by creating multiple accounts;
- resell or sublicense access to the service, or share a Pro API key outside your team;
- use the service to infringe copyright or privacy rights, or for unlawful, harassing or deceptive purposes;
- present generated summaries or transcripts as verified statements of the video's creator;
- probe, disrupt or overload the service, or access data that is not yours.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
7. Accuracy of transcripts and AI output
Transcripts and AI-generated content are produced automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice. Verify anything important against the original video before you rely on it.
8. Payment, cancellation and refunds
Pro is billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renews until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Pro users can ask for a refund within 14 days of a charge if the quota is largely unused. Other payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where we charged you in error. The full policy is on the refund and cancellation page. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
9. Third-party services
The service depends on providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and on YouTube itself. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google. A video may be unavailable to us because it is private, removed, restricted or blocked, and a transcript request can fail for reasons outside our control.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. Changes to the API and MCP servers are recorded in the changelog.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or business, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we must do so to comply with the law. Sections 5, 7 and 11 continue to apply afterwards.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the service and cancel any subscription.
