Remove timestamps from a transcript
Paste a transcript copied from YouTube or another tool and select Remove timestamps. Lines that are only a timestamp, such as 0:00, 1:02:03 or [00:01], are deleted, inline stamps are stripped and the remaining lines are joined into readable paragraphs you can copy or download as TXT.
Don't have the file yet? Get subtitles from a YouTube link, or get the transcript as text.

Copying from YouTube's transcript panel
On a computer, open the video's description, choose Show transcript, then select and copy the lines in the panel. The copied text alternates a timestamp line and a text line, and sometimes a spoken duration such as "1 minute, 5 seconds". This tool removes all three kinds of lines. YouTube's own panel menu can also hide timestamps; menu names vary by version.
The text is then grouped into paragraphs of about five sentences. Auto-generated captions often have no punctuation, so those are broken roughly every 120 words instead.
Next time, skip the copying: paste the YouTube link and get the clean text directly.
Limits you should know
- Everything runs in your browser. Text you paste and files you choose are not uploaded to TubeTranscript or anywhere else.
- Punctuation and capital letters are not added. Auto-generated captions stay as unpunctuated as YouTube provides them.
- Sound tags such as [Music] or (Applause) are removed along with timestamps.
- A line that contains only a time, such as "3:30", is treated as a timestamp even if it was part of the speech.
FAQ
Which timestamp formats are removed?
0:00, 00:00, 1:02:03 and 00:00:01.000 at the start of a line or on their own line, plus [00:01] and (00:01) anywhere in a line.
Does it work with SRT or VTT files?
Yes, but SRT to text is made for subtitle files and also removes cue numbers and repeated caption lines.
Is my transcript uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser.
Can I get a transcript without timestamps directly from a YouTube link?
Yes. Paste the link into the YouTube to text tool and choose Copy text; it never includes timestamps.
