Bulk YouTube transcript downloader
To download transcripts in bulk, paste a playlist, channel or list of video links, select Preview videos, then Start export. Each video's YouTube captions are fetched in the background. Then download one ZIP with a file per video, a manifest.csv of every video and its status, and all.md with every transcript.

all.md |
Every transcript in one Markdown file, with a link to each video |
How the export runs
Videos are fetched one at a time, about 20 per minute, in a queue of their own, so a large export never slows down single-video transcripts. A video that YouTube does not answer for is retried with a growing delay; if many fail in a row the export waits before it goes on. A video that has no captions, or is private or deleted, is listed in the manifest with the reason. Resume retries the videos that failed for a temporary reason, using captions only.
Limits you should know
- Uses captions that already exist on YouTube. AI transcription of videos without captions is a Pro option you turn on, and the preview shows the minutes of video before you start.
- Transcripts are private to your account: they are not added to the public library or the sitemap.
- Each video belongs to its owner. Use transcripts for your own research, notes and accessibility, and check your rights before you republish words from a video.
- Channel links must be @handle, /channel/ or /user/ links; YouTube does not let tools look up /c/ links.

What happens to videos without captions?
They are listed in the manifest as having no captions. On Pro you can turn on AI transcription before you start, within the minutes limit shown in the preview.
Do I pay again for videos I already have?

Can I close the page?
Yes. The export runs on our servers. Open the page later and pick it from your recent exports.
Are the transcripts public?
No. They are private to your account.
