Um, so today we are going to build a small server. It was, like, really simple. You know, the hard part is the setup, and I like pizza while I wait. Uh, let's start.

Why "like" is treated carefully
Sounds such as "um" and "uh" are never real words in a transcript, so they are always removed when selected. Words such as "like", "you know" and "kind of" are often real: I like pizza, do you know the answer, a kind of bird. Safe mode removes them only when they interrupt a sentence between commas. Strong mode also removes them in more places, but still leaves "like" as a verb or preposition and "kind of" after words like a or the. Text inside quotation marks is kept unless you turn that off.
Limits you should know
- Everything runs in your browser. Text you paste and files you choose are not uploaded to TubeTranscript or anywhere else.
- English only. Other languages need their own word lists.
- The rules are patterns, not understanding. Read the highlighted changes before you use the text, especially in Strong mode.
- Files are limited to 5 MB.
FAQ
Does it remove "like" in every sentence?
No. Safe mode removes it only between commas, as in "it was, like, huge". "I like pizza" is left alone, and so is "looks like rain".
Can it work on subtitles with timestamps?
Paste plain transcript text. If you have an SRT file, first convert it with the SRT to text converter.
Can I keep quoted speech as it is?
Yes, that is the default. Text inside double quotation marks is not changed.
Which words does it remove?
um, uh and similar sounds, plus you know, I mean, kind of, sort of and like. You can switch each one off.
Does it support other languages?
Not yet. Only English word lists are included.
