My name is Sally Root. Today, I'd like to introduce you to a quick and simple way to work on yourself alone with almost no work. Actually, even though it's simple, it's really deep and can bring you so much information about yourself.

And on top of it all, it's fun. I do it all the time. I bet you can't wait to try it. Okay, it is to do with this cool idea called flirts. That Arnie Mindell developed and wrote about it as book streaming while away.

Quantum mind and others. This is just a short introduction, so if you want to know more, you can look at these books. Now, you're probably thinking to yourself, flirts.

Like flirting in relationships. That sounds strange, but actually, it's pretty different. To say it real simply, flirts are quick, flickering things that catch your attention, but they happen so fast that we usually forget about them right away.

But if you put your attention on them, they can bring you a lot of really great information about yourself. Actually, we notice flirts all the time. Like, did you ever walk down the road and quickly notice the special color of a flower?

Or saw a face in a cloud? Or hear a quick sound on the street and think it's someone calling your name, but there is no one there. Yes, flirts happen all the time, but we don't usually put our attention on them.

Yes, they happen so quickly that I usually don't keep my attention on them. Maybe you can give some examples of how to do this. Okay, I'm going to walk down to the beach to show you what I mean, but you can do this anywhere.

While I was walking, something on the side of the sandy cliff caught my attention. I thought I saw a face. I almost passed it up. But then remembered that it was a flower. So I looked again and saw an old wise-looking figure.

And then, to work on it, all I had to do was hold my attention on it and ask, why is this catching my attention? And what is it trying to express to me just now?

And by the way, you can also imagine becoming the thing that caught your attention temporarily of course and sense what it would say to you. It's really fun. So, I did that and it said to me, Solira, you think you are only a young woman, but actually you are also a very old soul and should identify with that more.

Well, I was a little shy about that, but actually it helped me because sometimes I don't believe enough in some of my deep feelings and ideas. And because of this experience, I was able to make this video for you.

Another day, I looked down from the bridge and saw something in the river below. I thought it was a horse, but when I looked closer, I realized it was just a log. I was going to pass it by, but I stayed with that quick flirt that caught my attention.

As I watched it, the horse seemed to have a cape and could even fly. And it seemed to say, Hide me and you'll be able to go through anything. And I can tell you, I really needed that message in that moment.

I was going through some pretty challenging things. Of course, you might see something completely different and that's the beauty of it all. Each of us has our own individual process, so different things will flirt with each of us.

I could do this all day, but here's one last example. Another day I was walking down the street and I saw a figure from the back and I thought it was a powerful monster.

But then when I got real close, I saw it was just a real person. And then I woke up to myself and realized I must have powerful, huge energies like it has.

Where are those energies? Here they are. Okay, finally, I should also tell you that noticing blirts can be so helpful if you have a question on your mind and you want to find a quick answer to it.

First, ask the question. Maybe you want to think of a question that's on your mind right now. And then take a moment to relax your everyday mind a little bit.

That's important because the ordinary mind is usually kind of uptight and therefore isn't open to catching tiny, flickering things. Arnie calls this a, lucid, state of mind. So again, you just have to relax your everyday mind, let it become a little dreamy, and then let your eyes be a little blurry and just gaze around your room or wherever you are.

And notice what quickly catches your attention. Why don't you do that now, for a moment? There might be a few things that catch your attention, so at your dreaming, mind choose the one to focus on right now.

It might be a color, a shape, a sound, or something else. If you need more time, just pause your video for a moment. Then just meditate and be with that thing that caught your attention, dream into it.

Feel it and maybe even become it a little bit. And discover what it's trying to express to you, just now. And finally ask, how is there some kind of answer to your original question?

Well, there's lots more stuff to learn that flirts, but that's enough for now. I think it's so exciting because it shows that the world is full of dreaming and messages. It's really generous and can bring us all sorts of information in any moment.

If we're open to noticing it, in tow, I'm learning to be a therapist. So if you need more help, just play this video again. Okay, enjoy catching flirts. And see you later.
