reference back to this later. Uh so just to repeat that, um anybody that shows up late, anybody that has to leave early, the stream will be sent to you by email later, so you can refer back to it. Um if you have to go, you don't have to feel like you're missing anything.
We're going to get started here in less than a minute. We have a deck to go over. And we're going to hopefully answer everybody's questions just by going through the deck. Uh as you'll see on the very last slide, we have many of the questions compiled together.
Um and we will go over some of those questions we might have missed as we move through the deck. Uh so let's just give ourselves a few more seconds to to let everybody get on.
But again, you will be able to reference this video later. It will be emailed to you today. All right.
Why don't we get started here, Bill? Um let's just give some introductions about ourselves. Uh some of the people that are going to be watching know many things about Shark Wheel. Some are new to Shark Wheel, and some don't know anything about Shark Wheel. So we want to make sure we cover our tracks and you might hear stuff that's repeated that you already know, but you will certainly hear new things as well, uh regardless of how um educated you are on everything Shark Wheel. So my name is Zach
Fleischman, and I'm the CEO and co-founder here at Shark Wheel. Um I do many different things, wear many different hats, um including business development, IP work, uh licensing, uh all sorts of day-to-day business uh activities. Uh but I'm going to turn it over to Bill Ellison, who is a fairly recent hire in the COO position. So, Bill, take it away.
>> Yes, came on recently as chief operating officer. My background is working with Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Walmart, Honda, and Toyota. I'm really excited about scaling the opportunity here at Shark Wheels. We'll talk about that later. And also the technology platforms that will enable that. So, super excited for the announcements and the discussions, Zach.
>> Absolutely. So, I'm going to get started. And again, just to repeat one more time, uh anybody that has to leave early or anybody that shows up late, don't worry, you will get the recording of this emailed to you today.
Uh so, this again is an intro to Shark Wheel. Many people already know this, but this is, as I said, covering our tracks, making sure everybody gets a fair share of understanding what not just the technology is, but what the business is. So, if I was forced to explain what Shark Wheel is in one sentence, it would be the benefits of a very thin wheel or tire and the benefits of a very wide tire in one shape. And
so, what that means is a very thin wheel, you get maneuverability, lower friction, um and Shark Wheel has those benefits. And then you get a very wide wheel or tire, and you have the benefits of off-road performance and going over all types of varying terrain. Again, Shark Wheel has that. So, what a Shark Wheel is is the benefits of a skinny and a wide tire in one shape.
>> It has been great to see how our customers really appreciate these advantages. As we've talked to different industries, this is really serving some of their needs. >> Uh another intro slide. We got a couple more intro slides. Um I'll start here on the top right. So, this is inspired by nature. So, the Shark Wheel comes from David Patrick's scientific discovery. Um Shark Wheel
didn't go out to try to make a better wheel originally. This shape came from a scientific pursuit. And the name of the company comes from the shape of a shark's jaw. So, if you Google what does a shark jaw look like, you'll actually get the shape of a Shark Wheel, and that's where it came from, the name of the company. Um what you're looking at here on the bottom right is also what I happen to be holding in my hand right now. And it is a Shark Wheel. And what
it is is it's a shape that's perfectly flat on six sides. A lot of people think it's an optical illusion. It's certainly not. Uh but the shape actually rolls perfectly smooth, and as you'll find out has many scientifically proven advantages.
Um it is a 540° wheel. A normal wheel is a 360° wheel. So, it's almost like a wheel in the third dimension. It's like a three-dimensional wheel, you could think of it as. Um in terms of soft terrain performance, if you have a skinny wheel, you will knife into the sand, and you cannot go over soft terrain. If you think of a very
wide wheel again, uh it can go over soft terrain. Um but it can't you can't have the benefits of both. So, Shark Wheel, when it's rolling on a hard surface, it acts just like a skinny wheel.
When it's rolling on a soft surface, like sand, it cuts a wide contact patch, and it can get through that uh soft terrain. Um this is just a quick snapshot of some of the items we'll be going over today in today's uh webinar.
And we make many more products other than this. These are products that we either are in the market on or in development on right now. Um so, we're excited to show you that. Uh so, what you're looking at here is everything from agriculture, material material handling, industrial casters, wheelchairs, um industrial carts and tool boxes, uh agriculture machinery, skateboarding, luggage, and you'll hear
about car tires, as well. Um we consider the the heart of the company, the crux of the entire company, resting its IP portfolio. That means we have invested heavily in our patents, heavily in our trademarks, and we have taken it global.
We have dozens of issued patents around the world, and many more pending. Uh so, this has been, you know, a very important part. A lot of people ask questions about, uh you know, has anybody tried to counterfeit us, or is that an issue that, you know, investors need to be concerned about? And the short answer is no. Um it's very hard to make a Shark Wheel. In fact, we consider the trade secrets on how to make one, not only roll smoothly,
but how to make it perform better to be, um part of our IP portfolio. So, it's not just our patents and trademarks, it's also the trade secrets. And that is evidenced by major companies that have chosen to do business with us. So, you'll hear about our partnerships with Grainger, um and with many other uh Fortune 500 companies and large companies, industry leaders. Uh but they don't choose to circumvent us, they choose to partner with us.
All right. So, getting into the science and the nature part of the Shark Wheel, before we get into the full business part of Shark Wheel, which is coming up very soon. Uh but the science and the nature. So, as I mentioned, Shark Wheel comes from a scientific discovery.
Um you will see many things throughout nature that exhibit sine wave behaviors and motions. Uh they're almost too too many to list. Um but I always thought an interesting one was how humans walk, you know, left, right, left, right with an alternating gate. How snakes slither, how fish swim, how radio waves move in a sine wave. Um ocean waves, uh everything in nature
tends to oscillate and move back and forth. And that um is important because when you copy nature, you tend to see advantages. There's many products in the world that that um you know, look to nature to solve issues and you tend to see a lot of advantages when you do so.
Um one of our biggest advantages, certainly not our only advantage, you'll see more of them, but is our rolling resistance advantage. So, that is of the utmost importance in most wheel applications. Now, if you're trying to build a tire for uh the Formula One racing, you actually want, you know, the opposite. You want to be able to have a lot of grip on
turns, uh but that's such a niche industry, such a unique application, almost every wheeled industry in the world is looking to reduce rolling resistance. So, you're able to save customers millions of dollars when you're talking about large companies simply by this one advantage. So, when you have less deformation um in material, you are able to um
preserve that energy and move forward with more efficiency. Um we are not a materials company, we are a geometry company. So, we are able to achieve our advantages in rolling resistance simply through the shape itself. So, we're able to compete head-to-head with any other company using the same material and see this and see improved advantages and we have a lot of scientific testing to back
that up. Here's the first slide on that scientific testing. We've done um years of scientific testing whether it be at laboratories, universities, industry leaders, and we've seen advantages in longevity, which is called wear. So, our wheels last longer in almost every application.
As long as you're not sliding our wheels laterally, you will see a longevity advantage. Uh we have greater rebound. That translates to speed. We have up to 57% less rolling resistance. Uh one is that is very interesting is less shock. So, if you imagine driving your car over a speed bump, everybody naturally knows to drive at an angle to reduce the shock.
Um that is important in many industries. One example being the material handling pallet jack industry. You often loads on pallet jacks can fall off when you hit an expansion joint uh or a crack in the warehouse floor. Well, we go over those obstacles more smoothly.
Um also on this slide you'll see some just some of our awards for our technology. Um it's not just an interesting shape. It's truly a technology. Um Shark Wheel has been a three-time government grant recipient through the National Science Foundation.
