Thank you. -I can't wait to meet you.-Me, too. -Last time ---So, I was here. I found out I was pregnantlike two and a half weeks before the "Devil Wears Prada"press tour kicked off. And I was just like,"How is that gonna work?" -Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because now you have to doall this press. But you were doing everything. You're a pro. -I got really lucky. You know, my main symptom duringmy first pregnancy was fatigue, and that didn't happenthis time. This time,my main symptom was... -well, acne, but ---Yeah.
-But I had, like, the craziest sense of smell. It was like -- Yes. -You know.-Wow. Isn't New York City funwhen you have that? It smells in the city. -You're like, "Ooh, wow!"-I really do love this place.
-In the summer, you go,"Whew!" -Oh, yeah, when it's nice and ripe. -Oh!It's ripe is a good word. It's a good word. -There's just a tang.-Very ripe tang. -And the thing about pregnancysmell is you smell time. So you don't just smellthis summer.
You smell all of the --I went back to the '80s. -Wow!You went back in time. -There was many strikes there.No. And, so, you know,on a press tour, it's amazing. It's like this "Goodfellas"experience. You're going in and out of,like, hotels in the back, back ways, but you passso many garbage bins and you go throughso many kitchens.
And then you go into elevators. And you smellevery single room-service order. -Yeah. And every cologne, every perfume and you go -- -The perfume was reallyintense, because people I love, they, like, come to, like,be like, "Oh, my gosh! Hi! Good to see you."And you're like, "I love you." -That's a lot. Yeah. You're like...
-I thank you for coming. -So, first trimester, my goal was to not, like,dry-heave in public. -Good.-And now, third trimester, my goal is to notwaddle in public. So I feellike that's a good thing. -No, you're allowed to do it.You're doing a great -- Whatever you're doing, keep it up. It's fantastic.
-Thank you. -We also talked about the Knicks last time you were on the showand your love for the Knicks. You almost wore anOG and an Obi jersey. They played against the HawksI think the day after you were on the show, talking. You gave the Knicksa pep talk here. And then every headlinewas all you.
"OG Anunoby enjoys'Anne Hathaway effect' in Knicks Game 6 winover the Hawks." You were the credit forthe Knicks winning. "New York Post".We love "The Post". "Why Anne Hathaway is gettingall the credit for Knicks' historic playoff performance." I mean, it was -- The governorof New York's office tweeted, "Thank you, Anne Hathaway."
That's pretty cool. That's got to feel good. -[ Cheers and applause ] -But here's the thing. I feel that wayabout the Knicks all the time. I feel like the real, like,"X" factor in that -was "The Tonight Show."-Ooh! -It was the combination.-No.
-Maybe it was expressingthe love -- -Oh, together. -Yes.-Yes. Well, we hadthe Knicks on the show, and OG was on the show. I wanted to surprise you. He autographed a jerseyfor you, bud. -Are you serious? -That's for you.-Oh, my -- Hold on. Hold on.
-No, no. Oh, my God.You don't have to put it on. Oh, no, no, no!Anne... Annie... -[ Cheers and applause ] -You are unbelievable. -Wow! That's -- -[ Cheers and applause ]-Come on. That's what I'm --That's what I'm talking about.
-Immediately.-Oh, my gosh. You put it on immediately.Oh, my gosh. -I think it goes great withthe Bulgari. I can't cross my legs. -Sorry.Yeah, yeah. -I keep forgettingI can't do that, and it's always a surprise. -Also, the Knicks sent overa whole baby basket for you. -I am so spoiled.
-They love you.And OG... -Wait! -OG signed the card and said,"All my best, OG Anunoby." That's from --Yeah, because we just knew -- We knew you were goingto come on, and they're like, "Oh, yeah." So this isall the love for you. I'll give it to you backstage.
-I'm supposed to be,like, a person now? -Yes, you're a person. Yes.-That's crazy. That's so nice.Thank you so much. -We have to talk aboutyour movie. That's really why we're here.-Okay. -We're talking about --This is Colleen Hoover. The movie's chilling, scary. Is this what you thoughtyou were getting into -when you signed on to ---I'm sorry. I'm so excited about my jersey.
I'm messing upthis transition so bad. -No, you won't.No, no. You can't mess me up. -You just want to talk aboutmy scary movie, and I'm just like... -Yeah, yeah. Now we have toget into movie mode. -Okay.-We have to get into movie mode. -I'm switching. I'm locking in.-Yes. When you sign on for this film, did you think it'sgoing to be a romantic comedy?
Did you think --What did you think -- -I did.-You did, right? -I did, becauseit's Colleen Hoover, who's, you know, this incrediblysuccessful romance novelist. And Michael Showalter isthe director of it. We worked together on"The Idea of You." -He's fantastic. -He's so amazing as a director, as a human, as a friend.
And so I just thought,"Oh, my gosh. Colleen's written a romance, and Michael's going to make it funny andthis is going to be so great." And then I read "Verity." -Cut to...-And it is, like, murder. -Yes! Yes!-It's, like, bad murder. -Yes! -And it's, like, bad humansand lies and deceit and all of these things.
-And so I just ---It's great. -And Dakota Johnson.-I got really excited. And then --Yeah, no, I got excited because I'm not the personthat you think of for this type of a part. And I was like, I just love thatMichael thought of me for it. And thenthe cast came together. -It's Dakota. It's Josh.-Josh Hartnett.
And then, in the movie, a lot of youare just kind of propped in bed. -Yes. -And I'm like,"Man, oh, man." You stay so stilland you're acting, and I'm like, "Whew!" Are those long days? -Yeah. -Wait.What do you mean?
-I mean,I should probably, like, lie and just be like,"Oh, no, it's really hard. You have to digvery, very deep." -It's a pleasure.-To lay in bed? -It's a pleasure to playa character who's very wealthy and has expensive nightgownsand cashmere socks and lies in bed. -It's the best roleyou ever played.
-I was so happy, and, like,an actress friend of mine, who's a serious actress, when I told herabout what I was doing, she looked at mewith such concern and she was like,"Aren't you bored?" And I was like,"No, babe." -Yeah."I am having the best time." -"I think I might be a genius."
-Wow.You cracked the code. -Maybe that's it.-You cracked the code. -And then, when I wasn't doing that, I got to do all this, like, juicy, like, villainy, heightened stuff, and so that was great. -I got to say, the premierefor the movie was last night, and something was goingviral today that made me laugh, and I haveto show this video of you.
-Do it.-It's you on the red -- -I know exactly whatyou're going to show. It can only be one thing. It's horrifying. -It's not horrifying. It's so funny. -It's like the stuffof nightmares. -Oh, stop it.-Okay. -It is you on the red carpet and you were just tryingto organize everyone while all the photographersare taking your picture.
You kind of went into mom mode. Here's Anne Hathaway.Watch this. -"Now we gotta go -- No.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Just like that.Let's do it."
-It's like mom modeby way of chorus line. Like, it was just so --And the thing about it was, I did it --I was trying to be helpful. The photographers --There were so many of us, and the photographers were, like, getting upset. And so the vibe was changing, and I was just tryingto be helpful. -Yes.-And so I did the thing, and as soon as I was done,I went, "Oh, no.
-Yeah.This is gonna go viral. -Well, because also --Because when I was doing it, I was like, "I'm tryingto get you your picture." And then I was doneand I was like, "But there's also video." -Yes!There's always video. -And I went into a fullcringe crouch on the inside.
