Hey, what's going on guys? It's FO and I figured since I was asked about this so much yesterday, I would actually take the time to make a simple starter melee guide for those that are going to be doing dead mode and didn't want to follow the either ranger path or mage path that I put in my last video. Uh, I was asked about this a lot yesterday, so I just figured, you know, let's go ahead and cook something up real quick so you can at least have a simple start that gets you to a decent weapon and gives you a rebuild capability as well. So, you'll be asked when you log into Deadmond mode to choose between five starter zones. Choose the gnome
stronghold and you should end up here right around the spirit tree. We're going to start by doing one lap of the gnome agility course. This is just to get level 10 agility. It takes just over 30 seconds and it's to jump start our life relic. We're going to do this because the lithess sigil is going to give us way more experience if we get a few levels in it first as opposed to just starting at level one. And that's going to compound into dead men points later on. From here, we're going to go back to the spirit tree and we're going to tell you to the grand exchange to complete an achievement diary step for 25 points. We're going to go back to the
gnome stronghold for 25 points and we're going to go back to the GE one more time. We're going to run to the GE and we're going to use our Dead Man Skull and attune the Lifeess sigil. And we're also going to go to the equipment screen, click the Dead Man icon right here, and claim formidable fighter.
We're also going to open the bank and withdraw 25 coins. And then we're going to run over to the agility shortcut, and go to the fairy ring. You'll be able to use this agility shortcut because you unlocked the light in this relic. So, you don't need the agile level for it. Don't worry about that. All in-game shortcuts will be available to you with the lightness relic regardless of your agile level. From here, we're going to take four fairy rings for 100 points.
That's B I S, AIR, ALS, and D I S. We're now going to take the BLR fairy ring to get to RD. From here, we're going to run west to the RD East bank. When you get to the east bank, turn on thick skin and unlock the consistency relic with your dead man's skull. Once you do that, run west to Provisha to check pets and restore your prayer at the altar. That's going to be 15 points and 15 points for the already easy diary steps. And then run south to
start the fight arena quest. To start the fight arena quest, talk to Lady Survville. Spacebar through all of her text and then run east. Open the door in the far eastern house and grab the Khazard armor out of the chest. Again, double check to make sure that you brought your five coins with you cuz you'll need it for one of the next steps. Go to the guard to the south and go inside the Kha'Zer jail. Run all the way south and speak to the headguard.
From here, run west to the bar. At the bar, speak to the Khazard barman and buy a Cali Brew. Run back inside and go back to the guard you recently talked to. Speak to the guard to give him the Cali Brew. Click on the prison gate to speak to Sammy Servo. This will put you in a cut scene and put you inside the fighter unit to fight the Khazard Ogre. You're simply going to run straight behind the corpse on the ground here and safe spot the Khazard Ogre with your starter staff. If for some reason this NPC hits
you on the north side, just run to the south side of the skeleton and hit it safe spots again. If he hits you on the south side, you could do the same by running to the north side of the skeleton. Once you're done spacebar through all the text and speak to Henrad, hold down space bar until you get put back into the finder arena for the next fights. Start these fights the exact way you did last time. Repeat and do the same thing for bouncer. Once you're done with the bouncer fight, General Khazard will try to attack you.
You can entirely skip this fight by just clicking on the door to exit. You might get hit one time, but just tank it and eat food. Press one to exit the door. From here, run back to the quest start at Lady Serville and turn in fight arena on Deadman Annihilation. This will get you 51 attack and 34th evening. From here, run straight north of Arty to the warriors that are southwest of the fishing guild. When you get into the safe zone of Arty, click on your Deadman's Skull and unlock the deception relic. The goal here is to get level 50
thieving so you can have a money-making strategy and rebuild in case you die and also so you can afford a decent weapon. If you have a money-making alt, you can skip these steps. If you're unsure, here's already here's the fishing guild and warriors are right here on the map. Pickpocket these with your deception relic until you hit level 40 thieving.
Once you're 40 thieving, chronicle telly, enter the champions guild for 25 free points. Run through Barack and go to the Theicilia clothing shop. Open Thilia's store for 20. Open open open the silia store for 15 points. Run northeast to Benny. Buy a newspaper from Benny for another 15 points and run east to the quitzel. Travel with the quitzel to travel with the quzel to get to Varammore. Once you're in Citadilla forest, pickpocket from guards until you
hit level 50 thieving and then run south. Pickpocket from wealthy citizens in the market square with your deception relic until you get about 25 to 30k GP. You can stay longer if you want to, but the goal is to get enough money to buy a sword. Once you have enough money, teleport with your chronicle to get back to Verac and run to the GE. Once you get to the GE, put in an offer for a rune sword or a rune long sword. Both of these come from zombie pirates, so hopefully the rangers that started the game have already put these on the GE, but if they haven't, you can either wait for them to buy, you can go to the Verox
Sword Shop to buy an Addi sword or long sword, or you can teleport back to the Champions Guild and try to buy a slightly more expensive rune sword or long sword. If I had to guess, the rune sword will be about 15 to 20k and the long sword about 20 to 25k. Check your points and unlock death strikes on your dead men skull. From here, go back to the tunnel on the northwest side of the GE and teleport to a training location for the remainder of your protection.
You want to find a low defense NPC to do this, so I would recommend hitting sand crabs or rock crabs. If you telly to AJP, there are sand crabs to the south right here. If you telly to AKR, you can also run south to the ZAN crabs down here. Or you can telly to DKS and run west to the rock crabs. Keep in mind with this route that you still have access to your two museum lamps that you can use on prayer to get to level 40.
Keep in mind that with this route, you still have access to your two museum lamps. So once you get level 20 prayer, you can use them to help you get up to level 43 for overheads. Hopefully this will get you started and on the right foot with your melee route. Just note that if you do stay in the multi zones like the crabs where you're training, you will likely die very quickly after your protection runs out. So consider moving to a safer, more obscure training location. In Deadmond mode, just try to think of training locations that people would have a hard time getting to because PKers are less likely to check
those locations. If you do end up dying, remember you can go back to wealthy citizens to try to rebuild a cash stack. You can also try to find a different NPC that is outside of a safe zone to pickpocket to gain money because it's a lower likelihood that PKers are going to be there and you just need a little bit of money to buy a new sword. Since the starting melee route doesn't have any considerations for overhead prayers, that's probably what you want to focus on after your first hour of protection.
Remember, nothing from your bank is risk in Dead Man mode. So, what you can do after your first hour is to bank all of your items, take out a starter staff and some food, and come down to the Taverly dungeon to cast on blue dragons. If you're using magic, you want to stay away from green dragons because they're quite tanky against mage. Blue dragons have more HP, but you will kill them much faster with a starter staff. With the lifeess relic, you can squeeze through this obstacle pipe without having the the agile level for it. So, you can safe spot any of these blue dragons in this room. The one consideration you want to make is to
make sure that someone has aggro on this first blue dragon so you don't get one hit on the way in. Any dragons in Deadman mode, I think with the exception of lava dragons, drop double dragon bones. And I'd recommend bringing about six of these to the Chaos Alter for 30k prey XP. However, the level 38 Wilderness Chaos Alter will have PKers at it after the first hour of protection runs out. So, just beware. If you bring Tuna with you, you should be able to get the dragon bones buried before anyone is able to PK you as long as you heal through it. As long as you're able to
gain 30k prey XP from the chaos altter, which again should be about six dragon bones, you can come back upstairs to the rock museum, speak to historian Minos, and gain two experience lamps that give you 10k XP each. You need level 20 in a skill to use these, so make sure you do this after you gain some prey XP.
That'll take you all the way up to level 43 prey, so you have overheads for the rest of your grind. Also, consider that downstairs is a dangerous area in Deadman mode, but if you complete the museum quiz, you'll get level 27 slayer and 27 hunter. And then since you've talked to historian Minos already, you should be over 51 kudos so you can speak to the information clerk for 27 mining.
These skills will give you a large amount of dead men points so you can buy some more things off of your dead man's skull. After you have overhead prayers, consider that scurious is going to be one of the fastest melee method trainings in the game in the early stages. However, unless you have the sigil that gives you unlimited prayer points, you probably need to know how to one tick flick to get through this boss without pray. Just keep in mind that Scurius does not have a private room in Deadman mode. You can only access the normal room, which has three times the amount of HP as normal. So, it's 1,500 damage to get a kill here. Regardless,
it is still probably one of the best training methods in the game, but once protection runs out, this will be dangerous because it is a multi-combat zone. That being said, each Scurious Spine is worth 50,000 experience in a combat skill at the lowest level bracket. That should do it for this guide. So, I hope this got you off on the right foot and you're able to start deadman mode and have some sort of rebuild in case you die. Don't get demotivated if you get set back. Just get back on your feet and get back out there. Good luck, boys. and have a great Deadman.
