Have you ever heard people say >> Day 85 of starting >> my boy would build >> I'm solo building >> Building the next big >> like everyone right now is building their business on public on social media and it's working. As a founder or even just a person with a dream, there are two types of content you actually need to be posting on social media in order to build correctly in public. Number one, expert/authority type content and number two, documentation/journey type content. In order to build a cult-like personal brand in today's day and age, you need to be posting both. So they trust you like an expert but are also
obsessed with you and your journey. As someone who's built multiple personal brands for myself and for other founders across multiple different niches, in this video I'm going to show you how to do exactly this. First, we need to talk about your content split. I typically lean to like a 50% to 75% of your content should be the expert/authority type content and then 25 to 50% of that content should also be that documentation, storytelling, journey type content. Based on how much you're posting, your content split could look like any of these options. But if you're truly serious about building in public, I highly recommend that you are not
posting anything less than these three splits. Now that we know how much of each type of content we want to be posting, let's first break down in the documentation/journey type of content. This is content where you show the real process of building a business, the lessons, decisions, wins, failures, and so on so people can see your entire journey and not just the finished product/service. Some examples of this content could be number one, series. You could have the daily series which is where you share a progress update every single day. They typically start with something like, "This is day one of trying to complete insert goal."
>> Today is day one of re-habbing my 6-year-old bowling alley. >> Or you could have the progress update series which you show the journey of you building something or trying to complete a goal and sharing updates sporadically, not necessarily every single day. I'm Haley and I'm currently writing my very first book. More specifically, I'm in the editing phase.
>> Then you have the lessons series. For this series, you are saying a lesson you learned. Typically, it's like one lesson per episode whether that's like building your company or doing anything kind of niche related. >> This is lesson one of 30 lessons by 30. >> And then you also have the step-by-step series. This is where you share how to do something and each episode is basically a breakdown of each step of the process. I start by shampooing my roots for about 30 seconds. I don't know if you guys ever met my cat, but this one's named Tate. Number two, the number {slash} metric updates. You're typically
going to see this with like income posts or like business revenue related posts. >> This is how much I made in the month of January as a full-time content creator. Number three, we have my story videos. This could be your entire life story, this could be how the business was built, this could be a breakdown of how a product or a specific service was built.
>> Here's the wild story of how I made over a million dollars in 67 days by creating new physical products. >> Number four, we have cost breakdowns. This can be on a product, a service, or just the overall business itself. I paid $948,000 to build my dream home and pool as an owner-builder. Here's the complete cost breakdown. Number five is the what I would do differently retrospects. These can be your like wins, your losses, your lessons learns, your mistakes. It's a very wide variety of different things, but a lot of the times it's just going to be like after a phase of something,
what did you learn from doing that? >> making over $500,000 per month personally, and then I walked away. Now, those were just a ton of examples of documentation {slash} journey type posts, but remember this is going to be like 25 to 50% of your monthly posts. And I will say this one is definitely harder to come up with {slash} make entertaining, but it definitely is possible. I would just find and follow really great founders online and see kind of what they're doing and use them as inspiration. Tate, you agree? Next, let's break down expert {slash} authority content. This is educational
content you make relating to your niche that provides incredible value {slash} social proof and positions you as authority as well as make someone really trust in you for that subject matter. Some examples of this type of content is going to be number one, it's step-by-step tutorials showing a step-by-step process, framework, acronym, or so on. How to plan a full month of content in 45 minutes. Number two, comparisons. This is where you might compare a different actions, methods, products, or services to get a certain result. Let's do a full face of high-end makeup versus our drugstore dupes.
>> Number three, myth bust {slash} common mistakes content. This is just where you bust niche related common mistakes or myths that are commonly told. Stop. Don't use your chocolate immediately after melting. >> Number four, do versus don't or right versus wrong content. This is where you just show the right versus wrong actions to get a certain specific result that is niche related.
>> Don't do this. Do this and then this. Then you have number five, educational tips / hacks. These are just one-off hacks, tips, etc. and so on in your niche. >> This is how to style an outfit using the 60 30 10 rule. >> Then number six, you have Q&A type videos. This could be ranking videos, washer, eight. Slugging, zero.
>> tier list videos, >> Calibrate plates, straight to see to. Those big ass rubber bumper plates, beat it. >> or other types of Q&A content. >> Diamonds. Librarians. Hashtag. >> Not important. >> Dior or Chanel? >> >> Dior. Number seven, you have transformations and these could either be before and after transformations of yourself, >> from this to this. or they could be of clients.
>> Here's how my student went from a 1310 to a 1590. >> Number eight, you have the fake case study type of content. What I would do for X Y Z celeb or big brand if I got the opportunity to work with them or something like that.
>> If I were CEO of McDonald's. >> And then you have number nine, which is fake case study videos but for a certain situation. These are kind of like, what I would do if I was trying to do X Y Z from scratch. >> This is how I would invest a thousand dollars if I were starting from scratch.
