[Musika] Hello everyone. Welcome po sa ating MATIP YouTube channel where you can find free Tagalog Mathematics tutorial. Our topic for today is all about solving financial problems. This is part of the lessons for grade 8 mathematics. Okay.

But before we begin, let me just thank everyone who are supporting our channel by subscribing to our channel and sharing this to your classmates or for our fellow teachers. Thank you for sharing this to our dear students. Okay.

So before we begin, let's start with our learning competency. Okay. Today at the end of this video you will be able to solve financial problems involving una is iyung earning money. Second will be profit and loss. Third will be buying amounts of products that represents the values or iyung tinatawag nating best buys. And number four is buying on terms

or in other words this is what we call the installment plans. Okay. So our lesson is divided into four parts. Okay. So let's begin with our recall. First in your grade 7 mathematics, you were able to learn the following money problems.

Okay? We learn about discount and sale price, commission and sales tax, ah simple interest rate and uh if you remember we were able to make a financial plan. Okay. From those topics, I hope na tatandaan pa po natin ang mga ito because these are actually related with our lesson for today in your grade 8 mathematics. Okay. So, let's begin with an engagement. First, let's think

about these questions. Okay, try to think and answer this personally. So the first one is have you ever received money from your parents or earned money by helping someone? Number two, have you tried selling snacks or school supplies and counting if you gained or lost? And number three, when you go to store, how do you know which product gives you the

best value? Okay? Ano yung ah kung saan tayo makakamura? All right. And then lastly, do you know what it means to buy something by installment? So all these questions will be answered later on after we finish our lesson.

Okay, let's start with solving financial problems on earning money. Okay, so how do we earn money? First, people earn money in different ways. Okay? Pwedeng through wage. Ano ba ang ibig sabihin ng wage? Wage is a payment for labor or work, usually based on hours or days work. Okay.

Now what about salary? Ano baang ibig sabihin ng salary? Anong pinagkaiba sa wage? Salary is a fixed regular payment typically monthly or yearly. Okay. So monthly salary or yearly salary. Ah yun po yung term natin no. Agag

arawan naman po we just call it wage. What else? We have earnings or income. So earnings or income is the total money received from work, pwedeng from business or other sources. And then

lastly we have what we call commission. Okay. 'Ag sinabi nating commission, this is now the payment based on a percentage of sales made. Okay? If you remember, this was our topic in your grade 7 before.

Okay. So, let's have the common formulas on earning money. Okay. Yung una is yung wage. How do we get the wage? Just need to multiply the rate times the time. Okay. When you say rate, ito po yung rate per hour or per day. In other words, this is the amount of money paid per hour or per day. Okay? Imu-multiply lang natin sa number of hours or yung

days na ah nagtrabaho, no? So that's how you get the amount or iyung wage natin. Next is commission. Okay. Remember, commission is the amount of money you get when you uh sell something tapos mayro'n kang makukuhang uh commission or part nung napagbentahan. Okay? So this is what we call commission. Commission is equal to rate times the sales. So ano

ong rate na ito? Yun yung commission rate. So remember we learn this in your grade 7. This can be 10%, 5% okay or 20%. And then you multiply it by the total sales. All right. Next we have total earnings. Ano po ang total earnings? All you have to do is to add the commission plus yung wage or yung salary. Remember, wage is it can be daily or hourly and

then yung salary naman pwedeng monthly. You just add the commission and then you will now get the total earnings. So ito yung mga common na formulas. Meron pa bang ibang mga formulas na ginagamit when it comes to earning money? Madami pa po. But we just focus on this three common. Okay.

Okay. So let's have the first example for our problems about earning money. Okay. So let's try to read the problem and let us try to identify kung ano yung hinahanap, ano yung given and ano iyung topic or formulas na kailangan natin for this problem. Allr so let's begin. Ella tutors grade school pupils in matges Php120 per hour. If she tutor for 2

hours on Monday, 3 hours on Wednesday, and 1.5 hours on Friday, how much did she earn in total? Okay. So ano po ang topic natin dito? So since this is a tutorial, this is mostly per hour. Okay.

So pag per hour po siya, ang tinutukoy po natin dito, it's not a salary, but it's more on wage. Okay? So that's why in our solution we know that wage is equal to the rate times which is yung total hours. So kailangan muna nating i-solve yung total number of hours. So since we have here 2 hours sa Monday, 3 hours sa Wednesday, and then 1.5 5 sa

Friday. We just need to add this three numbers we will get 6.5 hours in total. Now using our formula wage is equal to the rate per hour times the time which here is the total hour 6.5. We just substitute. It is 120 per hour. So 120 per hour

6.5 hours we will get Php780. Okay. So ganun lang po kasimple on how we compute the wage. Okay. Let's have the second example.

Okay, we have here a bookstore clerk earns a salary of Php15,000 per month plus 3% commission on all sales. In March, he sold Php80,000 worth of supplies. How much did he earn in March?

Okay, so since we are now dealing with salary, it means per month. Okay? And then meron din tayong nakita dito na commission. So we have a rate which is 3%.

Ibig sabihin we are going to get yung total earning. So in in solving for the total earning first we know that commission is equal to rate times the sales. Okay? So ano po ba yung rate natin? It's 3% and then yung sale natin is Php80,000.

Okay. Now, we will multiply it by rate. Don't forget in multiplying a percent number to a whole number, all you have to do is gawin nating decimal C 3%.

Magiging 0.03 siya. Okay. To do that, you just need to move the decimal point to the left two times. Kaya magiging 0.03. Multiply natin sa 80,000 and we will get 2,400.

This is our commission. Now for the total earnings, we just need to add the salary plus our commission. So yung salary niya per month is 15,000. I-add lang natin yung commission na nakuha niya by selling 80,000 worth of supplies. We will get 17,400.

So that's how you get the total earnings. [Musika] [Palakpakan]

[Palakpakan] Okay, now let's proceed to the second subcategory of our topic. Solving financial problems on profit and loss naman po tayo. So we have here when we buy when you buy and sell goods or services, you may either dalawa lang po

yan eh. you may either profit or loss. Okay? So profit or in other words gain is the amount earned when ano po kaya itong SP at saka CP na ito. Okay. So SP stands for selling price. The price at which the item is sold. And then CP stands for

the cost price. The price at which an item is bought. And then itong selling price naman, ito yung pinagbentahan mo. Okay? So kapag
