While earning 200 million won with teaming over the course of a year, I realized just three things deep down. If you keep these three points in mind, you'll be able to achieve quite satisfactory returns in a short period of time in a highly volatile market. To be honest, even though I earned 200 million won in a year, the process wasn't always peaceful.
I really worried a lot about whether it was okay to invest with 3X leverage for the long term. I heard that at the stock price fluctuated or crashed, all your money would just melt away due to negative compounding. Worrying whether you made a lot or not, honestly, I'm not the only one who feels this way when investing in stocks, right?
However, after thinking it over intensely, I became convinced that if I managed well within the exact three conditions I set for myself, I could earn much more than the market return as long as I didn't have to forcibly pull my stocks out midway because I urgently needed money. Because I urgent, I know many of you might be thinking, come on, how can you risk investing in TQ?
I hope you will watch it to this video comfortably until the end and listen attentively to my strategy for achieving high returns without wavering through TQ investing. Oh, the first point is this, you should buy TQ in installments during sales. As you know, TQ is so volatile that your mental fortitude won't hold up if you buy it just any time.
The TQ I bought for $19 last year was actually a price that was regularly reached in 2023, 2020, 2021 and 2020. I realized that if you take the courage to buy wisely during a sale, you can advance your financial freedom by a few years. That is why I strictly conduct long-term TQ investments only during their markets.
I determined my own initial purchase price by checking market issues such as how much the DOM DAG index has fallen from its peak and the fear and greed index. I anticipate a worst case crash in advance like the one in 2022 where it dropped by up to 80% from the peak.
I split the capital I mobilized to place buy orders in installments and then I simply sleep soundly with D. The idea that you can always buy at the lowest point might be an arrogant thought. I hope you don't tremble in fear even if the price drops further afts further I buy.
If we have carefully selected our initial purchase point, statistically speaking, the probability of making a profit over time is very high. No matter how serious the news sounds, the history of the stock market always repeats itself. I believe the most important thing is to view the market optimistic from a macroscopic perspective and shake off fear.
Also, I found that constantly watching the stock price in real time while buying inevitably shakes your mental state. It is much more helpful for mind control to place limit orders for a planned amount in installment and get a good night's sleep and maintain our precious present lives.
If you lose the psychological battle, it is really difficult to sustain TQ investing. I also recommend that even those who use the regular fixed price investment method buy mechanically every month, consider adding to their holdings when a bear market arrives. If you are investing $500,000 from your salary each month, it is a really good strategy to allocate $250,000 for the basic fixed price method and save the remaining $250,000 in your account specifically for additional purchases during a bear market.
Of course, this ratio may vary depending on your personal situation. I believe that the success or failure of leverage investing ultimately depends on whether you manage to weather the corners and make a purchase during a bear market. Even if you cannot add more money, I hope you do not stop investing out of fear.
Thinking it's falling now, so I'll sell now, buy back at a lower price and then buy again is truly a shortcut to ruin. Second, you must always hold dollars in your account. That is the exact reason I was able to buy TQ at really good prices last April and this March.
It was because I had a solid reserve of dollars in my account. Even when stocks are soaring and you hear stories of people making money from stocks everywhere, you must wait patiently even if you feel FOMO and think you're being left behind, named. I also planned a long-term investment in TQ starting in 2024, but I waited for the right opportunity by holding only dollars in my account without buying anything for nearly half a year.
And after waiting like that and successfully purchasing TQ with dollars during a bear market, your cash proportion will naturally be significantly lower. Even if your mind is filled with the thought that it feels like a waste to hold on to shares because they seem likely to rise further when the market rebound, you must grit your teeth and sell little by little to forcibly maintain the cash percentage you originally planned in.
That way you can happily seize the next opportunity when it arises. I actually felt quite regretful about the TQ shares I had invested so diligently in the $40 range during the first half of this year, but to stick to my principles, I sold 300 shares and replenished my dollar reserves by about 30 million won. Although I am a long-term investor, I am not in a position to pursue an indefinite amount of cash outside the office every month, so adjusting my cash ratio like this is an essential survival condition to protect my account.
Also, everyone has different cash flows and circumstances as setting aside a certain amount of emergency, living expenses in advance, tell it to your situation serves as a safety net to prevent the worst case scenario. The amount will vary depending on how much you spend, on housing and living expenses, and how stable your income is.
In my case, I set aside three years' worth of living expenses as a separate, safe asset. I prepared an advance so that even if the bear market drags on, I wouldn't have to tiffily liquidate my cash balance or stock as made by due to living expenses. Also, exchange rates are really tough these days.
For those who don't yet have a sufficient amount, among the dollars I recommend placing an exchange request for your target rate in advance. Usually, the timing for buying TO is when stock prices plummet by about then, the market is unstable and exchange rates have skyrocketed. If you face a crash with only dollars prepared, you end up fighting a very disadvantageous battle due to the exchange rate.
Instead of struggling psychologically over whether to exchange at what price or whether to do it now, if you plan ahead and place the order in advance, you will feel much more at ease. The third point is ultimately about long-term investment. Honestly, once profits start showing up in your account, especially at a young age, you feel like you've seen enough and are tempted to sell.
However, if you sell too quickly, you won't be able to taste the truly huge profits from leverage. Usually, after a brutal bear market ends, a long and strong upward rally often follows. Once the NASDAQ starts rising continuously without major corrections, assets multiply at a truly terrifying speed, riding the wave of positive compounding.
This is precisely this week's benefit of long-term leveraged investing. It is advantageous to fully capitalize on compounding through long-term investment. However, it is also important to manage your cash holdings through partial profit taking to adhere to principle number two, which I just mentioned. In fact, if you look around, there are many people who claim that long-term investing in TQ inevitably leads to failure due to negative compounding.
Of course, it is undeniably a very tricky and difficult stock to handle. However, after carefully analyzing it myself, I found that the data used to cite why long-term investing is impossible always showed the worst-case scenarios where people bought in a single continuous search at the peak and made absolutely no additional purchases when a correction actually occurred.
Well, negative compounding does have the frightening characteristic of eating at assets at long-term upward trajectory of the US. Big tech market is much steeper and more powerful than the speed at which the negative compounding knows a way. Historically, bear markets have always been short, while bull markets have been overwhelmingly long.
Therefore, over time, positive compounding eventually overpowers negative compounding gain. That is why typically hold dollar and cash impatiently, wait then aggressively by large volumes whenever the price drops significantly. Thereby drastically lowering my average purchase price C.
By destroying my average price in advance like this, I can fully enjoy the magic of explosive massive compounding during the long-term upward rally that follows the end of a bear market enabling me to generate overwhelming profits. Ultimately, I believe leverage is a battle of how steadfastly you maintain your mental composure and stick to the principles you have established until the very end.
In that sense, let me briefly summarize today's discussion in just three lines. First, buy strictly in installments when there is a sale. Second, always hold dollars and manage cash risk. Third, invest for the long term steadfastly without wavering.
I intend to continue steadfastly following and putting these plans into practice. I would be truly grateful if you would continue to watch my investment journey with warmth. I will be back next time with more honest and comfortable stories. You worked really hard today. Have a happy day. Who knows which day.
