hello again class and i would like to welcome you in our next part of lesson 4 which is entitled the definition of teamwork empowerment engagement and motivation in this part of the video we will be dealing about motivation generally motivation triggers us to do what we want to do and in getting out in the workplace without having that willingness that sustained individual effort

and at the same time the coordinated teamwork total quality management is very impossible to achieve in a specific organization that is why according to deming we have to motivate our employees and motivation would be intrinsic and extrinsic wherein it does with the monetary and the non-monetary benefits or any compensation that they can get from the company that they are working with and these things should be

carefully designed according to deming the first under which is what we call compensation of course money is a motivator people tend to work because they are trying to suffice their needs and this needs are bought by money that is why they are working according to the market-based compensation system it is very important to motivate our employees to come up with a high

performance from them other than that in order for them to operate with the goals and objectives of the company and of course for their own growth and development so these things should be given to our employees monetary and non-monetary with regards to the intrinsic and extrinsic motivators secondly is we have recognition and rewards

recognitions are special events or special recognitions this can be again monetary and non-monetary in the sense that you can give trips um gifts probably time of recognition events and others okay this is very important recognition is very important because it is a visible means that the quality efforts of the employee

are given consideration and they are considered to be valuable by the organization itself tackled in the video is also the theories of motivation and this is related to the human behavior in the organization so this will include the first theory which is

job characteristic theory when we talk about the job characteristic theory people will be more motivated if they know what they are doing if they are more satisfied and of course they're processing this core characteristics that they need to satisfy themselves in the job the first one is task significance under task significance we will be dealing here with the impact of the

of the task that was given to an employee in the organization having the question am i i am i'm making impact to the organization secondly is what we call the task identity and under this task identity it is a perception of the whole task so what are your progress as an employee it's very important to see your progress from start to finish the way you started until your finished product should be

seen in order for you to be motivated another one is skill variety which is very important for us not to be bored at work and to get out of the work in no time it means that this works should require variety of skills and talents that could be enhanced in order for an employee to feel that growth and development within himself or herself

the next one is autonomy autonomy is the freedom to decide or to be independent on the specific task that he is doing it is very important not to consult any more things that doesn't need to be consulted to the higher level officers or management because you yourself can decide in that way if you are given the authority to do that you feel empowered and when you feel empowered you feel that you are significant

and you are doing something good within the company and of course lastly feedback which is very important feedback is the performance appraisal you have to give feedback to the employees they have to know how are they doing if you are appreciating what are what they are doing probably um criticism should be given but then taking these criticisms positively will be very important because it is a way on how you will grow as an

individual it is a part of your professional growth but nonetheless if good things are given then the employee will become more productive because he will be more motivated to do so the next theory is what we call the acquired need suri under this um people are motivated to work by what

uh fulfills the needs of these people and according to the acquired needs theory there are three needs that we have to consider the first one is the need for achievement need for achievement would say um pushing yourself to your limit to work hard and come up with a high standard work in that case you are accepting the challenge in your workplace that is the first one need for achievement

the second one is the need for affiliation and need for affiliation entails the relationships that you have found inside your company the relationships that has been formed within your workmates within your subordinates within your boss or within your clients at the same time and of course the need for power which is your influence over the environment are you making an impact if you are making an impact and

you have that power they believe in you they believe in your capacity that means you have the power so these three needs are considered needs under the acquired needs theory and the last one is the theory which is called the goal setting theory under the goal setting here it's very important for us as employees in the future to have our clear goals because our clear goals will lead us to

our better work quicker work best performance to be exemplified in the workplace of course it's also uh good that we are challenged because we are pushed to our limits being uh being a participant of very challenging job is very important because you see your work after your job these are specific and difficult goals that must be given to an employee

in order for you to push his or her limits but make sure that when you give difficult tasks it says smart or still attainable because if not employee will be demotivated to work because there are no way to come up with the output but to fail so the task will be given and this task should be smart that ends our lesson four

and i will be seeing you again for the finals in our lesson 5 in lesson 6. thank you for watching
