foreign I think it may finally be true that after 50 years of this discussion we could use technology to work less you know that has always been promised has never happened social media remote working when we started working from home in the covert crisis we were working more than before

for most of us and we're using all those fancy tools from the iPad to the cloud to Dropbox and what have you we're still working more right anything that can be digitized or virtualized or robotized will be and that's what Ai and Technology does so commodity work right which all of us do commodity work but we're talking about customer service about answering a telephone about financial advice about insurance

brokering about you know a lot of jobs are at least partly routine and those routines will be done by smart machines that could mean that because 40 of my work is now done by machines my time is freed up I can go play golf or I can do more work in other ways right but now with this kind of human I would say human like but but the

machine that can do a lot of smart work for us it may finally be possible to say well in that case let the machine do all the work of scanning and the MRIs and and the doctor can sit on top of the machine right so my view is that an AI will never beat a human at work but a person with an AI would beat the person without the AI right so which means that everybody is going to use technology to do the work better

and that means eventually we can say you know three hours are enough because the machine is working for me I always say machines don't think like humans machines don't learn like humans and machines don't speak like humans they have their own way of doing this which is very useful but we often get confused ultimately the fact that routines job routine jobs are going away

will change a whole social structure right and everything around how we do things it will also bring up questions about if it's done correctly or not right just like you know when you go to the supermarket today and you're checking out with a scanner lots of mistakes happen there and sometimes people get away without paying right that will be fixed of course right but these things don't happen with people for the most part where they also make

mistake but not a lot like not like that so so then the question is in the end what is the benefit for example of removing that person from a routine job the benefit is clear when it's about manufacturing welding or working at the conveyor belt you know it's clear there but a lot of times that it's it it's not that clear-cut as to what the benefit is

of taking routine automation
