Today we are going to see just how good the perfume weapon class can be in Elden Ring. You see in the latest update there were several balance changes but notably the entire perfume weapon class was buffed and they used to be solid options but now they are capable of doing some crazy damage. Even rolling sparks, which if you didn't know, used to be a one-shotting monster back when the DLC first came out, is back to being an

absurdly strong option, but only against large bosses in this game. And to truly see just how powerful these perfumes are, we'll be using them to beat all 26 remembrance bosses in Elden Ring proper and its DLC. Now, without further ado, sit back, relax, and enjoy as we whip out the good old can of Axe body spray and get the lands between smelling like a middle school boy's locker room.

To start, we chose the wretch class, jumped off a cliff, stole my girlfriend's horse, and grabbed the physic flask.

Now, unfortunately, the perfume weapon class was a DLC edition, and Miyazaki did not give us any in the base game with the tarnish edition update, so we will have to, of course, go on a DLC speedrun here to get our weapons. Despite this though, there is technically a perfume we could go get now, but it is considered a consumable and does not count as one of the weapons that was buffed in the Tarnish edition update. With this in mind, I will of course go get it, but we're not going to see all of the perfume consumables in

this run. We're going to leave that for the impending all consumables run I have planned in the future. Now, to get this perfume, I had to go to Altus. We grabbed both Halves of Dectis, the Faith tier, the Glintstone Academy key, and howl of Shabiri before heading up the Grand Lift. In Altus, we found the perfumer ruins, which had the most important talisman of the run, the perfumer's talisman, and also the recipe for the spark aromatic. The spark aromatic is the consumable that deals fire damage, but it's really nothing

special and I don't recommend you even use it. To craft it though, we of course needed the crafting kit and cracked pots from Kali. And I also decided to go up to Volcano Manor and find this hidden wall which had a room behind it containing the depraved perfumer summon. What I wasn't prepared for though was the 126 FP cost that came with him.

Though we're not going to see him on the team for a bit. Next, we watched a horse jump off a cliff for the runes needed to get some vigor in mind. And then we set our sights on Rodon. Here we got to see a big 354 damage out of our consumable perfume. And that wasn't great.

Fortunately though, the squad could be summoned in to actually take this guy out for us. I also noticed while summoning these guys in that night Leon TL is now available as a summon in this fight as she was added in with the tarnish edition update. I guess thanks Miyazaki. Eventually the summons took him down and we could now set our sights on the second gatekeeper of the DLC, Moog. To get to Moog, we were going to have to do the Bar quest line, which we set out to do immediately. Bar then asked us to spray some perfume on Magnus

Carlson, but turns out that guy hates cologne, and he did us dirty three times in a row. Naturally, we told Barry we got the job done, and he then tasked us with spraying perfume on a dead maiden, which we did for some reason, and he rewarded us with a metal we could use to teleport to Mowgin. Before our encounter with Moog, we did set out our shuderie board to prepare for the cheese. See, Brother Korn sells the heal incantation, which we bought and could use to kill Moog. Let me explain. First, you must

enter Moog's boss arena like normal, but then immediately quit out. Once you load back in, do not fast travel or quit out at any point or you'll have to restart this process. Follow my exact path here. There's a couple difficult jumps and the map will start to phase out at one point, but if you want an in-depth tutorial on how to do this, you can check out the cheese run on my channel.

Eventually though, we made it to this hole and could simply walk off the cliff while holding the heal spell to endlessly fall. If you never let go of heal, you will just keep falling. And if done correctly, Moog will die and you will get his great rune as a signal that you can now fast travel to safety. We spent the runes we got from Moog on the following stats and then went straight into the DLC for some muchneeded grocery shopping. We of course grabbed the usual Scooby snacks along the way, but we were

really here to find Tiier, who would sell us our first perfume. This was the one and only axe body spray, aka the deadly poison perfume bottle. So, the R1 move set of this weapon class is nothing special, but admittedly, all the attacks from the perfume look pretty cool, especially if you power stance and have two different colors in front of you, but we'll get more on that later in this run. The charge attacks with the perfume bottles are actually pretty strong. But as you can see, they are quite slow.

Fortunately though, I will soon learn a fix for this and would actually recommend the charge attacks for most scenarios. But what I was initially expecting to be the best was the running R2s from this weapon class. See, as we're running, all these particles we leave out have their own hitbox and in theory can do crazy damage if they all hit. So, best use against big targets.

In practice though, I found it quite inconsistent and often bad against small targets. This could be a skill issue for sure, but I do believe what I have planned is better. Anyways, okay, enough yapping. Let's go upgrade this thing, shall we? We bought sommerstones 1 through 4 from EG and had already collected ses 5 and six in Volcano Manor, so we could easily upgrade this thing to plus six. The chat told me about the traveling perfumer set in Kid Swamp. So, we picked it up and now we

were looking like the dude in the middle of the hallway in the mall trying to sell you different fragrances forcefully. Okay, with the drip acquired now, we invaded Hornscent with Leta and carried her to victory so that she would award us with the lacerating cross talisman that buffs our running attack damage. I then went on to collect a sommerstone 7 in the DLC so that I could pair it with somber stones eight and nine in dragon barrel plus the sommerstone 10 in Moguin to max out the upgrades on our perfume bottle. To round

out the build, we got Golden Bow, the dexterity tier, and bullied some Melania simps with Carmen for the Kindred of Rod Talisman. Which reminds me, I haven't introduced you to Carmen, our summon yet. You see, along our journey, we did get enough mind to summon him. And yes, he uses the spark aromatic, the blood boil aromatic, I'm pretty sure it's that one, and the poison spray mist perfume.

These are all consumable perfumes from the base game and not the weapon class. I do understand that, but I'd say it's close enough. So, he will be joining us on our adventure. Finally, I decided to douse patches and axe body spray so that we could buy the shackle for our upcoming fight with Marget. All right, guys. 3 hours and 25 minutes later, and we've set up the running attack perfume build. Okay, this is one of two of the two different perfume builds that I think have a chance of being quite good

after they got buffed in the tarnish edition update. But let me show you what I have so far. Okay, this is the deadly poison perfume bottle, which oddly does physical damage and is the only somber perfume bottle, which is why I chose it first, cuz it's easier to upgrade a somber weapon to plus 10 than a regular smithing weapon to plus 25, especially early on. Then we have the finger seal to cast golden vow and howl. We also have the poison hand which we'll hold in

our off hand cuz this is going to, yep, you guessed it, poison our enemies. Plus, we can poison ourselves very easily with that deadly poison spray in our buff routine, which I will show you. Don't worry. And then we have the full traveling perfumer armor set, which you could replace with Rokasa, and we probably will at some point, but I wanted to showcase the drip cuz you can get it pretty quickly in Calid. Thanks to the chat for telling me that I could do that. I was fully prepared to go

naked blue man into Rochasa right away. But we have a little pit stop with this. We also have the perfumer talisman which obviously is a mainstay. We have the kindred of rot so that when poison procs we can then switch it to the lacerating cross tree which enhances our dash attack. So that's our running R2 that we're going to be using. But we're not going to be switching talismans that often. It's only because I only have two slots right now. As soon as we have four talisman slots or honestly even three, we don't need to switch at all. So

that'll just slot in that third slot that we're going to get for Marget here. And then our physic flask. I have the faith tier so I can cast my spells which is golden vow and howl of shabiri. And then we have depraved perfumer Carmen.

The other perfumer which you'll see soon uses something else. So we'll get there. We're not there yet. And then here's our stats, guys. Really you need 18 arcane to use just about any perfume bottle. And I think it was 13 intelligence, but we got 14. And then you're primarily with perfume bottles, you're going to want to level dexterity. Okay. But there's a dex one, there's a faith deck and intelligence one, and I think there's an intelligence one. And then this one also technically scales with

arcane, too. So like if you're in like new game plus five and you have all those levels, then you can juice all of those stats for your different perfumes because the game plan here is to use the different perfume bottles with the different types of damage. to like the fire one against bosses weak to fire damage and then the lightning one against bosses weak to lightning. All right, so that's our game plan. So, you're going to want to switch and swap here. But if you're a new game regular like me, just keep leveling decks cuz

most of them just scale with dexterity and that's good enough. But let me show you how the build works. Okay, so we're going to start off by of course drinking our physic flask. Then we're going to golden bow. We are then going to Howl of Shabiri.

And then at this point, you're going to want to switch over to your poison hand. And we're going to use the Ash of War, and that's going to poison ourselves. We'll two hand this. I'm going to switch this to the dash talisman. And we're going in. Okay.

All right. Now, we shackle. Bang. We go in with the running R2. Okay. It feels so weird. But there it is. >> I don't know, guys. I feel like the charge attacks might actually end up being better. But not that that was bad or anything. It is a plus 10 weapon after all. But we've got a charge attack build that we're going to cook up. And that one's going to be pretty good, too.

But yeah, this is the running R2 perfume build. And as we get some of the other perfume bottles with the elemental damage types, we're going to be doing more and more damage cuz then the physic tiers I have can be like, oh, plus 20% more lightning or plus 20% more fire.

So, that'll be helpful. But honestly, feels kind of good. Feels honestly a little clunky. I don't necessarily love that. Uh, you know, they start from behind you with the hit boxes. Yes, there's a lot. So on a boss like Leidius or maybe even Mr. Moose, I can see this being really good. But I can also see the charge attacks just being more reliable. So with that new talisman pouch, like I was saying, you can just

slot this in by the way. And you're looking good. But I think since I'm talking about it so much, we'll get a sidebyside comparison with the charge attacks right now. Okay. But if I switch to the charge attacks, the uh the buff routine is going to take uh a different turn. Okay, so I might as well just show you that right off rip here. And am I going to get another perfume for that? I might, cuz there is a strat we can use

with a very nice skill that'll guarantee I can get the full charge attack off cuz that's the only downside. Charge attack is slow and can be interrupted, but there's a way to get around it. Okay, so let's do our little grocery shopping haul. Okay, we loot the chest. Loot the chest. Can I loot it from horseback? Of course I can. There's the fire spark perfume. Okay. Can I get an A? No. Okay.
